This Centre is registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria as a Non – governmental Organisation to engage the public on conversations on various topical issues in Nigeria and outside, towards forming opinion on developmental issues as a way of contributing to the effective implementation of government policies and National Development. The Centre organizes periodic discussions on topical issues without restriction hence the motto is:
THERE IS NOTHING WE CANNOT TALK…. THEREFORE, LET’S TALK. We are guided by the fact that what you do not speak about may not be talked about. Public opinion help to guide the conduct of public office holders. The owners of public office are the people and the people must speak on how their social contract must be conducted.
We share in the view of Catherine Gilbert Murdock that; “When you don’t talk, there’s a lot of stuff that ends up not getting said.”
Stephen Hawking echoed Catherine Murdock in this way: “For millions of years, mankind lived just like the animals. Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination. We learned to talk and we learned to listen. Speech has allowed the communication of ideas, enabling human beings to work together to build the impossible. Mankind’s greatest achievements have come about by talking and its greatest failures by not talking. It doesn’t have to be like this. Our greatest hopes could become reality in the future. With the technology at our disposal, the possibilities are unbounded. All we need to do is make sure we keep talking.” Like Robert Schuller said, “Faith is daring to put your dream to the test. It is better to try to do something and fail than to try to do nothing and succeed”.
And as noted by Thomas Jefferson, “Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude” A Man’s worth is not more than the worth of his ambitions
